There are two main sources of home theater surround sound formats are Dolby Laboratories and digital theater system. Dolby Laboratories formats include variations in versions of Dolby Digital and Dolby pro logic. Digital theater system has a range of DTS format digital theater sound. Unfortunately most of the receiver audio / video is not supported a broad range of Dolby and DTS.
